Thanksgiving 2012

26 Nov

“Give thanks to the Lord for HE is good…His love endures FOREVER!” Psalm

Thankfulness.  We are reminded again that we are abundantly blessed as a family.  We are thankful, most of all today, for the free gift of salvation that God has loved us enough to give.  A verse that we have read together as a family is Psalm 62:11 “One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: that you, O God, are strong, and that you, O Lord, are loving.”  There is great comfort in knowing that the God we serve is strong and powerful and that He loves us.  I encourage you to ponder those 2 things today in light of the many things we have to be thankful for.  There is nothing happening to our family, to this country or to the people we are surrounded by that is not under the care of our Great and Powerful God and His love.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving in a new way this year, we miss our tradition that has family gathered in Wisconsin eating turkey, pumpkin pie and enjoying another year of blessing.  As much as we miss that tradition, we sure have enjoyed having a day at the beach.

The traditional turkey dinner was replaced with a cheap lobster dinner on the beach.  Yum! I think I could get used to this new tradition…

Have had you all much on my mind and prayers these last few days. Trust that you are all well and continuing to experience His provision, joy and peace as you serve Him there.
