Saying good-bye is never an easy task…so we didn’t say good-bye. We said “See you later!”. As we approached the final days at Give Hope 2 Kids, we all were sad to end out our time there. As we talked together as a family it was unanimous that we all would love to come back.
We enjoyed a last day of swimming with all the kids, playing more games and cherishing each moment we had with the wonderful community at Give Hope 2 Kids. As I hugged each of the kids as we said “See you later!” I was reminded of the verse in Jeremiah that God says “For I know the plans I have for you…to give you a future and a hope.” I have often praised God for that reminder in my own life, but today I rejoiced over knowing that God loves each of these precious children and that He has created them knowing each of them and caring enough to give them a future and a hope. We cling tightly to the hope that He provides!
I am thankful for the work that Jason and Sarah are doing in the valley of Honduras and so thankful for a chance to be a part of it. We look forward to staying in touch with their ministry and seeing how God continues to use them to give those precious little ones a “future and a hope”.
We will soon start our trek to San Pedro Sula, Honduras to fly out December 24. We will have a few days to debrief as a family before we reenter the world of warm showers and a busier pace of life.
