When I was at Give Hope 2 Kids, they had ten abandoned children. One of my favorite kids was Javier. He was always ready to play and was just happy. One of the activities we did a lot of, while in Honduras, was swimming in the river. The children homes were near the river so we swam a lot. When I got to Honduras, Javier was not the best swimmer. I really enjoyed teaching him how to do the front stroke and breathe while swimming. We had a whole month to practice his swimming and by the end he was almost a pro!
Another thing I did with Javier and the kids, was I walked them to school. They went to school from 6:30am to noon. I would walk them on this muddy road and Javier would always ask to go on my back. If could I would take Javier home in a heartbeat. I can’t wait to get back to Honduras to see him again.
