From surviving to thriving….

13 Jun

We have survived the chaos of last week and are now resting in a calm assurance. Ok, calm inwardly.  Outwardly our life still looks pretty chaotic.  But truly, we have come to a place where we feel like we are not just surviving but thriving.  There is still a lot of unknowns, but we are getting better with just enjoying the moment and not worrying about tomorrow.  Here is a brief update on a few of the majors of our life right now…

We made it through the presentation on Sunday.  Although we didn’t have as much time to prepare as desired, we were encouraged with how many people engaged and were sincerely interested in learning more.  The Yada Project is ready to fully launch and were excited to share some of the details.  In fact, there was so much interest that we will be hosting a few other events around Madison the rest of the summer for people to hear how God is at work, share some stories of people we met and allow people to “shop the world to change the world”.  Watch for more details on all of that in a future post…

Isaiah has had a few doctors appointments this week to figure out the course of treatment for his hip.  We are thrilled that there is NO need for surgery.  Yippeee!  He is to be resting for another week and then will be starting physical therapy.  We are already seeing improvement in his mobility and he is hopeful that he will be back to full health in 8 weeks.  He is a VERY active kid and sitting has been torturous.  Thankfully the World Cup is helping him sit still for a few more hours each day.  Thank God for soccer!

The house search is still going.  So far there has not been much progress.  The “homelessness” of our family has not been too rough, though (as I sit and drink coffee and eat donuts with my nephews).  We are thankful for the hospitality of family and the many offers from friends.  Just as I was starting to feel the worry starting to creep in, I read this “By faith Abraham obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going….For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”  Hebrews 11:8.  We feel like we are in the midst of a journey that we are called to “obey and go” even though we don’t know where we are going.  Our faith is being strengthened and stretched in huge ways.  We are trusting in the One who is building a city with foundations.

We are excited to know you are standing on God’s promises. We pray you home will be given to you in the fulfillment of Hebrews 1:1 (Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not see . ) we pray this home will come NOW!!!

Yea, we continue to lift up Isaiah in prayer—for speedy healing. Amen!
