Other than a few hour layover on our way home, our time in Indonesia has come to an end. So where in the world are we?!? The Philippines.
The Philippines is also considered part of Southeast Asia and consists of 7,150 islands. We are currently staying in Manila. Our days have been full of exploring the area and tagging along to various places around Manila.
The Philippines is mainly Catholic with a few regions being Muslim. The big news here is the growing evangelical church. When I say growing, I should actually say exploding.
We are visiting Vince Burke. Vince and his family have served in the Philippines for more than 20 years. He and his wife Lori are in the midst of transitioning into a new ministry role that we will share more about in the next few blogs. It is a great opportunity to use the gifts God has given them and connections they already have.
Vince preached at a church on Sunday that we attended with him. What a neat way to experience Philippino culture in the context of church. The Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) has over 30,000 in attendance on Sunday mornings with 3 sister churches and many church plants throughout the Philippines.
Vince and Lori have had a relationship and worked with CCF for years through leading and teaching in discipleship. That will continue to be a part of their ministry as they join what Kids International Ministry is doing.
We are excited to be here for the next 2 weeks and share how God is at work in the Philippines. There is a lot to see, experience, and learn about…we better rest up!
